South Coast

Iceland's South Coast is arguably the most dramatic stretch of landscape on earth. In a single full day you'll walk behind a thundering waterfall, stand at the base of another, feel the volcanic black sand of Reynisfjara beach beneath your feet, and gaze across a glacial tongue that has been flowing for thousands of years. This is the tour for those who want to see Iceland at its most raw and elemental — without a tour bus in sight.

Your stops on this tour.

01

Seljalandsfoss

One of Iceland's most beloved waterfalls, and one of the few in the world you can walk behind. A 200-foot curtain of glacial water crashes down from a cliff edge — walk the path behind it for a view that very few places on earth can offer.

02

Skógafoss

A thundering 60-metre cascade flowing from the ancient cliffs of the Eyjafjöll volcano. A staircase alongside takes you to the top for sweeping views across the coastal plains — and if the sun is out, watch for the double rainbow at its base.

03

Reynisfjara Black Beach

Iceland's most striking beach — jet-black volcanic sand, roaring Atlantic surf, and the distinctive hexagonal basalt columns of Reynisdrangar rising from the sea. Wild, elemental, and unforgettable.

04

Glacier Viewpoint

A close encounter with one of Iceland's most accessible glacier tongues, flowing down from the vast Mýrdalsjökull or Eyjafjallajökull ice cap. Subject to weather and road conditions — we'll find the best vantage point on the day.
